Mom and I went on a beautiful fall day nature walk this week. The weather was perfect so I agreed to go on a short car ride to take our walk. I do love going to different places for walks, so I was excited for that and for mommy and me time.
It was eighty degrees, but no humidity and a light breeze. These days my arthritis keeps me from jumping on things and a few other activities but Mom helps me with that. Walking is good for me and I enjoy it. There are miles and miles of trails in the woods, open fields, and by water and swamps.
We didn’t find much in the way of flowers but we did find a few of these yellow ones.
Behind me is a swamp with lots of very tall cattails. We wanted to get a close up of a cattail but Mom didn’t want to fall into the swamp so we had to abstain from that idea.
In one picnic area there were these giant “rock blocks” that make a great place for a lady to sit for a photo.
One place in the woods we found all these mushrooms on a tree. They are rather fascinating in a way and ugly in another, but they are truly natural.
The sun was super bright, but I forgot to bring my sunglasses, LOL. Some of my photos have me squinting a bit.
Behind me is part of the lake. They have lots of benches for people to sit on that overlook the lake. My head furs show the light breeze but I don’t mind the tousled look. It was a fun time with just me and Mom. Hope you enjoyed a little sliver of nature from my neck of the woods.
