Sunday on the way back to the hotel from my ELT-P Trial, we stopped in Fenton, MI to take part of the sculpture walk. We saw the town on our way to the trial and then found out they have a whole bunch of sculptures set up as a walking tour. After being in the car most of the day for my trial, a walk is a good idea.
The town itself is absolutely adorable! It is very old, well kept and completely decorated. We found an old fashioned gazebo in the middle of the city, right along the Shiawassee River.
They have an actual walking tour map with all the sculptures. The Graceful Dancer is the first one we found.
Next up is a sculpture named Great Lakes.
Our favorite sculpture of all is, The Game. It is right off the main street and looks very real.
How about a house? It is rather simple and boring but somehow interesting too.
Nelson wanted to pose by this old city fire engine. It is in really good condition and it belongs to a popular restaurant that has a huge outdoor patio.
The Steel Butterfly is the fanciest sculpture we came across. It is right in the middle of the city by the gazebo.
For us, the funniest sculpture is named Grateful Fred, aka, Heavy Metal.
We parked our car on the street right next to the Rubik’s Cube. This was the last sculpture we found on Fenton, Michigan. There are quite a few more but it was hot and we were tired, so we stopped after finding all of these. Mom says this town is also ideal for anyone who wants to do some shopping but we didn’t do any shopping on our visit.
I’m joining my friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard for their Nature Friday blog hop.
