Today we have a small sliver of the great outdoors up north for Nature Friday. We stopped on our way home from Nelson’s trial for a little walk and took a couple of photos on our walk. The trail in the woods along the lake was great but squirrels were everywhere. We had to cut things short because Mom was tired of trying to hang onto us when we tried to chase squirrels.
Sadly, the pretty leaves we hoped to see were pretty much nonexistent. They were a bit past peak and with heavy winds, the colored ones all blew off the trees. Still we found some hanging on for a bit of color.
The Sumac was nice and bold with color. They are so bright, they almost look fake.
We stopped at the boat launch at Lake Mille Lacs and went out on the dock. It sure is a big lake! The weather on the way home was ideal too!
Finally, we could not resist stopping in Deerwood for a photo with this wild guy. He is a true representative of the great outdoors up north! He may not be real but there are a lot of deer up north that look just like him. Hope you enjoyed a few photos of our nature by Lake Mille Lacs.
I’m joining my friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard for their Nature Friday blog hop.
