After nine months in space, astronaut Suni Williams finally returned home—and her dogs were ready and waiting for the moment they could leap into her arms.
Williams posted a heartwarming video of the reunion at her home in Houston, Texas. In the clip, she walks into her yard and greets her two overjoyed dogs with a smile. They wag their tails wildly, bouncing around her, one even grabbing a stick in excitement to offer as a gift.

Do you recognize me? Do you know who I am? she says, laughing as the pups smother her in affection.
The mission she was on was originally only supposed to last eight days. Instead, Williams and fellow astronaut Butch Wilmore spent nine unexpected months aboard the International Space Station due to problems with the spacecraft they rode into orbit.
They were the first astronauts to travel aboard Boeing’s new Starliner capsule in June 2024. But shortly after arriving in space, the Starliner experienced helium leaks and thruster malfunctions. NASA decided it was safer to wait until a reliable return option was available.

On March 18, 2025, they finally returned to Earth.
Despite the delay, Williams and Wilmore remained upbeat. In interviews with FOX News, they stated they never felt abandoned or stranded and said they’d happily return to space if asked.
But for Williams, no moment compared to this one—the moment she stepped back onto solid ground and reunited with the pets who’d been waiting nearly a year to see her again.

Best homecoming ever, she captioned the video. And based on those wagging tails and loving eyes, her dogs definitely agreed.
