An unexpected and startling visitor shocked residents of a Kentucky home on May 21, when a black bear crashed through the ceiling and landed directly on the kitchen stove. The surreal incident occurred in Bell County and has since gone viral after being shared by the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Law Enforcement agency on Facebook.

According to the department, the bizarre encounter began when a game warden was called out to the residence during the early morning hours. Upon arriving, the warden, along with a Bell County Sheriff’s deputy, discovered the large bear curled up comfortably on the kitchen stove. Above the animal was a gaping hole in the ceiling — clear evidence of its dramatic entrance.

Officials concluded that the bear had climbed a ladder on the outside of the house and found an opening that led into the attic. From there, it either slipped or intentionally dropped through the ceiling into the kitchen below. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident, and it’s unclear whether anyone was home at the time.

With quick coordination, the game warden and sheriff’s deputy were able to guide the bear out of the home through an open door. The bear appeared disoriented but did not act aggressively. Authorities expressed relief that the situation was resolved without injury to the homeowners or the bear.
