We had fresh snow on Saturday morning after a big rain storm Friday night. Crazy weather! Before it melted Mom wanted to take a walk out by Gramma’s house by the Minnehaha Creek. Since she takes me with her to visit Gramma lately I got to go for the walk with her.
There were only a few people out walking which we love. Crowds are not something Mom likes and she avoids them whenever possible. The ice is out on the creek and the water is flowing along.
We were impressed someone had already been on the trail with their bike. There were no other foot prints besides those from Mom’s shoes and my paws on the trail, just bike tire tracks.
They have been busy thinning out the forest and it is looking quite good.
With the warm air, the snow was rather wet which means it sticks to my beard like a magnet! Good thing I don’ t mind. Mom thinks it is funny and cute.
On the way back to the car Mom saw this deer lying in the snow fairly close to the creek. It was the only one she saw and it saw us too. I didn’t seem to see it which is good because I might have howled at it. It is amazing how many deer are out and about in Minnetonka. We see them close to Gramma’s house too and Bailie got right up close to those four last month. Hunting is not allowed in Minnetonka which makes us happy as the deer will be fairly safe. That ends our walk and it was off to Gramma’s house for some cookies, yum!
