Get Happy With The Peanuts Gang from Charles Schulz

My GBGV Life Get Happy With The Peanuts Gang from Charles SchulzI got happy with the Peanuts Gang from Charles Schulz on the weekend. This year marks seventy five years of the Peanuts. The first cartoon appeared on October 2nd, 1950. Charles was from St. Paul, MN which means there is a lot of Peanuts going there. Mom and I visited the five bronze sculptures in Rice park. This one I am admiring is Charlie Brown holding Snoopy. The bronze statues were created in 2003 and are permanently in this park.

My GBGV Life Peppermint Patty with her footballNext I ran into Peppermint Patty kicking around her football in the snow. If you are a long time blog follower, you may remember Emma found as many Snoopy statues as she could around the Twin Cities. She started her project in 2013 with the Snoopy at the IKEA store at the Mall of America. We don’t know how many she found over the years. Eventually, she added finding the other characters too.

My GBGV Life Marcie on a bench readingI found Marcie on a bench reading a book. She is the kind of girl that is very into school and learning. The bookworm look is definitely evident when you see her!

My GBGV Life Get Happy With The Peanuts Gang from Charles SchulzWhat is she reading? I tried to glance over and get a look but I wasn’t able to figure it out. She doesn’t like to be bothered when she has a good book. Woodstock seems to have a better birds eye view of the book than I do.

My GBGV Life Schroeder and Lucy with the pianoHow about some music in the park? Schroeder would not be seen without his trusty piano. Lucy has her crush on him, and therefore is hanging out listening to whatever he chooses to play. I was hoping for, “How much is that doggy in the window” but he wasn’t taking requests.

My GBGV Life Get Happy With The Peanuts Gang from Charles SchulzFinally, I found Linus and Sally simply hanging out, watching traffic, looking a bit bored. I tried joining them to see what they were looking at but I didn’t see anything interesting.

My GBGV Life behind the charactersSneaky Mom took this shot of the three of us from behind. She says it is super cute. I don’t know if I agree but it is nice to see what is actually behind these two characters. Linus has his blanket draped over his shoulder and Sally is holding flowers. My back right paw is kind of  like Sally’s right foot which is funny.

As I mentioned, these bronze sculptures can be found in Rice Park. We took a photo of the sign and then realized after reading it, it is a rather famous park. No wonder the Peanuts Gang is hanging out here! Hope you enjoyed seeing the characters we found.

My GBGV Life is happy, so we’re joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
