Gramma’s 90th birthday party was a big success. Both Gramma and I were worn out by the end of the day, but a good worn out. It seemed that everyone enjoyed the party, especially, Gramma. Because riding in the car makes me feel bad, I haven’t been to see Gramma in months. For her birthday I wanted to be there so I got to go with Mom and Gramma was super happy.
Turning ninety is pretty special and worth celebrating. Mom explained it to Nelson as living his life twenty two times plus two more years. He said the thought gave him a headache and he didn’t want to be ninety.
The humans had some snacks, drinks, and of course a birthday cake. Being a well mannered lady hound, I never would think of stealing food so the table was safe. I was about to wander about the house as I pleased all day, never getting into any trouble.
Gramma wanted a white chocolate cake with buttercream frosting and lots of bright colored flowers on it. We think the cake lady nailed the request. Mom heard from a lot of people how much they loved the cake. Some people had two or three pieces because it was super yummy…they told me.
Mom got a corsage from two guests which was fun for her. It is really pretty and it went well with her bright colored blouse.
There were twenty seven people plus Gramma at the party…oh and me too. A lot of the people had never met me before, so I figured out who looked like they might want to pet me a bit and I made my rounds for some attention.
I even found some dog lovers on the screen porch. Gramma’s AC died during the party which meant the house was a bit warm. The porch was a nice place to cool off and get some attention all in one.
Gramma and everyone had a really nice time. At the end of the party I had gone upstairs to nap in the guest room because I was tired, and Gramma was ready for a nap too. Everything could really not have been better or gone smoother. Now Gramma is steaming towards 100! I’m glad I dealt with the car ride to celebrate with her because I had a fun time too.
