We had barn hunt practice on Sunday morning. Olivia and I are struggling to work now and be paid later. Last lesson I had a really good search but this time I was not so thrilled about it all. At least I did the tunnel without any fear. It looks like we will be trialing in April to try to get our Senior Titles. The person who runs the trials we go to in Minnesota has lessons at a private home every two weeks. For us it works well.
Olivia didn’t do well at all on her first attempt, but she knocked it out of the rat ring on her second try! Mom and her got all crazy and wild and Olivia picked off all the rats quickly and did the tunnel. We know how to find them, we just choose not to since we have to wait for treats.
When we finished with our hour lesson, Mom thought we should stop and take a walk since it was super nice outside. We stopped at Koch Minnesota Trail in Rosemount for our walk. Mom remembers stopping here once before but she couldn’t remember when or which dog(s) were with her. When we got home, she looked it up and it was Madison almost exactly five years ago on the same trail with the same weather! She truly is still with us.
The snow was melting and that means, ice, lots of water, and dirty dogs but Mom didn’t care much about that.
Some areas are more shaded and still have some very wet snow covering the ground.
Rosemount has a big steeple as you can see in the background. It is on a church, but the church is now an activity center for 55+ people.
After hunting rats for an hour and taking a nice walk, it smells to Olivia like it is time to get back home. So, off we went to the car and back home where we could get some snoozing time in. It was a fun and somewhat productive morning for the three of us. Bailie was thrilled to be able to stay home too.
