This Mother’s Day, the iHeartDogs community came together to provide comfort, nourishment, and hope to orphaned puppies who were growing up without the love and protection of a mother.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, donors, and Hero VIP Club members, the 2026 Mother’s Day Care Package Campaign helped provide essential supplies to vulnerable puppies in rescue facilities across the country. Your compassion helped ensure these young dogs received the care they needed to grow stronger, stay healthy, and move one step closer to finding forever homes.
For orphaned puppies, the first year of life is incredibly important. Proper nutrition, warmth, enrichment, and daily care all play a vital role in helping them develop into healthy, confident companions. Without those essentials, puppies can face significant challenges during a critical stage of growth.
Because of you, rescue organizations were able to provide care packages filled with:
- Nutritious meals to help puppies grow
- Soft blankets for warmth and comfort
- Toys for healthy play and development
- Daily care essentials to support their wellbeing
These simple items made a meaningful difference for puppies who had already experienced hardship at a young age.
Giving Forgotten Puppies a Second Chance
At BARK Rescue, puppies like Peeps, Opal, and Pearl received the support they needed while waiting for brighter futures.
Peeps, a gentle four-month-old puppy, was found abandoned alongside her siblings in Morgan, Texas. A Good Samaritan brought the litter to safety, and one by one, her siblings found homes. But while the others were adopted, Peeps remained behind, still waiting for someone to choose her.
Growing up in a shelter is difficult for any young dog. Every day, Peeps watched other dogs leave with their new families while she continued to wait. Thanks to your support, she received the food, comfort, and daily care she needed while rescue staff continued searching for the perfect family to call her own.
Opal and her sister Pearl faced an equally heartbreaking beginning. The young puppies were discovered abandoned in a ditch with no mother in sight. At only six to eight weeks old, both were covered in fleas and suffering from worms, leaving them weak, vulnerable, and struggling to survive on their own.
When they arrived at BARK Rescue, they immediately began receiving the treatment, nourishment, and care they desperately needed. Thanks to supporters like you, Opal and Pearl were able to start their recovery journey in safety, surrounded by people committed to helping them heal and thrive.
Helping Puppies Grow Strong While They Wait
At The Animal Protection League (APL), siblings Sable and Bear found themselves facing a different challenge.
Part of an unwanted litter, the puppies spent months without finding homes before ultimately being surrendered to the shelter. Instead of spending their puppyhood learning family routines and building lifelong bonds, they found themselves growing up in kennels.
Sable, just seven months old, arrived at APL playful, curious, and full of life. Though she had experienced rejection early in life, she never lost hope.
Like Sable, Bear was surrendered through no fault of his own. At only seven months old, he is still learning about the world and discovering what it means to trust. He has all the potential to become someone’s loyal companion; he simply needs the opportunity.
Your support helped ensure that both Sable and Bear received the food, comfort, enrichment, and daily care they needed while waiting for their futures to unfold.
Every Care Package Delivered Hope
Little Eileen was surrendered to the shelter after being found in a box alongside her siblings. Already facing challenges most puppies never should, Eileen has a tiny broken foot, an injury that likely occurred before she was even born. As she grows, she will likely require an amputation, but those who know her best say it won’t slow her down one bit.
Despite her difficult start, Eileen remains a sweet, resilient puppy with her whole life ahead of her. Thanks to the care made possible through this campaign, Eileen received nutritious food, comfort, enrichment, and the daily support she needed, allowing her rescue team to focus on giving her the best possible future.
For special-needs puppies like Eileen, every meal, every blanket, every toy, and every act of compassion makes a difference. Your generosity helped ensure that this brave little girl—and puppies like her—received the care they needed while waiting for the loving families they deserve.
A Mother’s Love, Made Possible by Compassionate Supporters
While these puppies may have started life without a mother, they were never without hope.
Every care package represented more than supplies. It represented compassion. It represented comfort. It represented thousands of animal lovers stepping forward to give vulnerable puppies the care they deserved during one of the most important stages of their lives.
