This Spring, something truly special happened for a group of long-waiting shelter dogs at Miami-Dade Animal Services—and it was all made possible by iHeartDogs’ incredible Hero VIP members and compassionate followers who donated or sponsored one of the dogs featured below.

While Easter is often filled with celebration, many shelter dogs spend the day just like any other: waiting behind kennel doors, hoping to be noticed. This campaign aimed to change that.
Each Easter care package included:

Meet the Dogs You Helped
Keanu
Keanu has spent an incredible 696 days (nearly two years!) growing up inside the shelter after arriving as a stray. Still young, Keanu has missed out on the stability and love every dog deserves. The shelter is all he’s ever known: constant noise, uncertainty, and watching others leave while he remains behind.
Despite it all, he continues to wait patiently, hoping his turn will come. With his new Easter basket and bright new photos, Keanu finally has a better chance to be seen.
Presto
Presto has been waiting 385 days after losing his home when his owner was hospitalized. Through it all, he’s held onto his joyful spirit. Presto is a happy, easygoing boy who loves people and gets along well with other dogs. Whether on a walk or simply by your side, he brings a calm, steady happiness.
Even the most cheerful dogs grow tired of waiting, and Presto is ready for a home that will never let him go.
Boss
Boss has spent 351 days in the shelter after being found as a stray. He’s a soft-hearted, gentle soul who prefers calm environments and quiet companionship. Boss thrives in peaceful spaces and enjoys simple moments: a quiet yard, a familiar friend, and room to relax.
Shelter life can be overwhelming for a dog like him, but thanks to his Easter care package and updated photos, Boss now has a stronger chance of finding the calm home he needs.
Bud
At 9 years old, Bud has been waiting 323 days after being surrendered and losing the home he once knew. He’s a respectful, easygoing companion who isn’t looking for chaos, just a quiet place to rest and feel safe again. Bud enjoys calm interactions and simply being near his people.
For a senior dog, time matters. Bud deserves to spend his golden years in comfort, not in a kennel.
Tinka Bell
Tinka Bell has been waiting 298 days after losing her home due to eviction. At 9 years old, she still carries a playful and joyful spirit. She loves people, thrives on affection, and brings smiles wherever she goes.

Clementine
