Madison was in her last competition just ten days prior to her passing. She had so much fun that day and did so well. Our only regret is Mom didn’t video her searches. She finished her AKC Scent Work Exterior and Overall Masters Title. Pink girl also received pink ribbons for each of the four elements she titled in at the Masters level. The overall title is a different color. We are displaying them on her pink blanky which she loved because it is soft and cozy.
AKC Scent Work started in September 2017, but it wasn’t really here in the Midwest for almost a year. Madison and Bailie went to their first trial in October 2018. A couple weeks later they traveled to Sioux Falls, SD for another one. This is where Madison earned her first AKC Novice Element Titles in Containers, Buried Hides, and Interiors.
Mom wore red that trial because Emma was supposed to be going but she passed away the week before. Red was her competition color. This is a photo taken of Mom and Madison about to start a buried hide search. It was bitter cold that weekend but she and Bailie still managed to do quite well.
Almost six years later, Madison finished her Overall Masters Title which is a wonderful accomplishment. She earned that last pretty pink ribbon she loved so much and had a great time doing it.
Her certificates came in the mail last week which was good but very sad. Mom put them in the frame with her ribbons and they will be there most likely forever. Madison is home with us and her titles have also been confirmed and set in stone forever. We are pretty much certain she is the second GBGV to earn an Overall Masters Title which is huge. Madison may have been a small GBGV, but she lived her life large and had so many accomplishments to be proud of.
We miss her so much and we know this probably makes everyone sad, but be happy for Madison. She was so happy to earn these titles. It is only fair to post about her final accomplishments, tears or not. Madison loved sniffing and worked hard at it. Remember the happy times, she would want it that way.
