Meet Dr. Pepper, the Tripod Puppy With a Taste for Soda and Belly Rubs

Some rescue puppies make a memorable first impression by wagging their tails or showering everyone with kisses. Dr. Pepper chose a much more unusual introduction. The tiny pup had barely stepped off shelter transport before spotting an unattended cup of Dr. Pepper. Without the slightest hesitation, he marched straight over, buried his entire face inside, and decided the soda clearly belonged to him now. There were no introductions, no polite sniffing, and certainly no regrets. His rescuers couldn’t stop laughing, and from that moment on, there was only one name that fit. Instead of acting nervous in a brand-new place, Dr. Pepper confidently helped himself to someone else’s drink as though he’d been invited all along. The rescue joked that his attitude was basically, “This is our Dr. Pepper now, friend.” After witnessing such fearless beverage theft, nobody even considered calling him anything else.
