2025 was a remarkable year for KENZO — filled with growth, confidence, and so many proud moments along the way. Watching him explore new dog sports, gain confidence, and truly enjoy the journey has been incredibly rewarding for us as his dog parents.
This year, KENZO earned six AKC titles, marking an exciting milestone in his dog sports journey. Each title represents time, teamwork, patience, and a whole lot of fun shared together.
Below, I’m sharing a closer look at KENZO’s 2025 achievements and what made this year so special.
2025 AKC Titles My Golden Retriever Achieved
KENZO proudly earned the following AKC titles in 2025:
– DCAT
– FCAT
– SCN (Scent Work Container Novice)
– SIN (Scent Work Interior Novice)
– FITG (AKC Fit Dog Gold)
– DJA (Dock Diving Junior Advanced)
Each one represents growth, teamwork, and a deeper bond built through training, trust, and shared experiences.
AKC Fast CAT Titles – DCAT & FCAT
KENZO absolutely loves to run. Watching him sprint down the 100-yard Fast CAT course is pure joy — full speed, focused, and completely in his element.
Thanks to many local dog clubs that held Fast CAT events throughout the year, KENZO earned:
– DCAT in March 2025
– FCAT in October 2025
His personal best time was 9.44 seconds, reaching an impressive 21.67 mph — pretty amazing for a golden retriever!
Fast CAT has been one of our favorite sports because it allows KENZO to do what he loves most: run freely and confidently plus as dog parents we are involved.

Dock Diving – DJA (Dock Diving Junior Advanced)
KENZO earned his Dock Diving Junior Advanced (DJA) title with 30 qualifying jumps through North America Diving Dogs (NADD).
Watching him leap off the dock never gets old. The excitement, focus, and pure happiness he shows every time he jumps are something special. While he hasn’t beaten his personal best of 14 feet 10 inches just yet, the joy he brings to the dock is what truly matters.
Dock diving has been such a fun way for him to build confidence, strength, and trust — and it’s always a highlight of our year.
AKC FIT Dog Title – FITG
Staying active and healthy is an important part of KENZO’s lifestyle. He earned his AKC Fit Dog Gold (FITG) title by participating in:
– Fast CAT
– Dock diving
– Pack walks
– Swimming
These activities keep him mentally and physically engaged while strengthening our bond along the way.
AKC Scent Work Titles – SCN & SIN
KENZO’s love for sniffing truly came to life through scent work. With only a few lessons, he quickly learned how to search for the scent of birch and confidently work through each element.
We started slowly with container searches, then moved into interior searches, followed by exterior and buried elements. Along the way, KENZO surprised us by earning not only qualifying scores but also Brilliant ribbons.
Scent work has been an incredible confidence booster and has shown us just how capable and focused KENZO can be when given the opportunity to lead.
Looking Ahead: 2026 Dog Sports Goals
As we step into 2026, we’re excited for what’s ahead.
AKC Scent Work Goals
KENZO will continue training and competing in AKC scent work with the goal of earning:
– Scent Work Novice (SWN)
– Scent Work Advanced (SWA)
– Possibly Scent Work Excellent (SWE)
Dock Diving Goals
KENZO will also continue dock diving with the goal of earning his Dock Diving Junior Excellent (DJX) title. To achieve this, he’ll need 25 additional qualifying jumps, bringing his total to 55.
New in 2026: Rally
KENZO will also begin Rally classes, a fun and engaging dog sport that strengthens teamwork, communication, and confidence. We’re excited to watch him grow in this new challenge.
A Year of Growth, Fun, and So Many Proud Moments
Earning AKC titles isn’t just about ribbons or results — it’s about the bond we build, the growth we experience together, and the joy that comes from sharing each moment as a team.
The memories we’ve created with KENZO truly mean everything to us, and we’re thrilled about what’s coming in 2026.
