I had some picnic table fun at the fairgrounds on Saturday when we were there for Nelson’s barn hunt runs. Mom brought our nose work supplies along and she put out a big search for me. I love searching anytime anywhere, so it was a really good idea. Probably the most difficult hide was high up an on a picnic table. Although I caught it a few times from the ground, I decided to try to get up closer to it.
Normally I am very cautious, careful and don’t climb on things. Mom was excited to see how I was working on this puzzle. There was a slight breeze that was blowing the odor towards me and it was sticking on the benches. Climbing towards the odor was really helpful in following the scent cone.
It took some time but I finally located the source of the odor under the top of the top picnic table. I worked my way over to the corner but Mom stopped taking photos as she needed to be able to reward me for my creative and Grand work. Both of us enjoyed a break from barn hunt and getting some good sniff practice done. Nelson’s day didn’t go very well. When he finished we headed back home. At least we all had fun during the day and I got some good practice accomplished.
