Scared Shelter Dog Tried to Disappear Until Her Happy Ending Arrived

At 70 pounds, Fendi was one of the biggest dogs at the Humane Society of Broward County, but she spent her days trying to make herself disappear. The two-year-old brindle girl would curl up in the back of her kennel, tuck her tail tightly between her legs, and hope the unfamiliar world around her would somehow become less frightening. For a dog who had spent her entire life in a loving home, the transition to a noisy shelter was especially difficult. Staff did everything they could to reassure her, but watching such a gentle, affectionate dog struggle with fear was heartbreaking. Thankfully, Fendi’s story has taken a wonderful turn. The frightened dog who once tried to make herself invisible has been adopted, and her new family includes a four-legged best friend who seems determined to help her feel right at home.
