Taking A Peak At Walker’s Point And Kennebunkport

My GBGV Life Taking A Peak At Walker's PointOur first day in Maine was a touring day which started in Kennebunkport and continued on to Walker’s Point. Mom had us posing on the rocks which was a bit tricky. She kept a good hold on our leashes as we didn’t want to fall on the rocks.

My GBGV Life Taking A Peak At Walker's PointHere’s a photo our navigator took of Mom taking our photo. It is super pretty with the lighting she got.

The sea was a bit angry, which makes for fun photos as seen above.

We were standing on the rocks right above where the water is heading.

My GBGV Life Mom and GeorgeNow the real reason we wanted to stop at Walker’s Point is Mom. First we want to say, politics is not our thing, we don’t get involved and we don’t pick sides. About thirty years ago after George Bush Sr. had been President, Mom was working a flight to Beijing, China. George and Barbara Bush were in seats 1a&b in the nose of the 747 flight she was working. No one bothered them on the fifteen hour flight but prior to landing George was up and in the first class galley chatting with crew members. He then agreed to take photos with some of the crew, Mom being one of them. He was a very nice man and the photo above is what she was able to get. It was still all film cameras back then so she has this one photo and that is it. She met a lot of famous people, musicians, actors, etc, but George Bush is the only President.

My GBGV Life Bush compoundThis is a view of the Bush compound on Walkers Point that has been in their family for over a hundred years.

My GBGV Life Bush MemorialNow back to Kennebunkport, where we visited the Bush Memorial in town. The Bush family has always had dogs too which makes him an even better guy in our book!

It is hard to get the text in a photo with the sun and reflections but we did the best we could. It is nice of Kennebunkport to pay tribute to George and Barbara. Do note they are sitting where we posed for our photo but it was a long time ago.

My GBGV Life KennebunkportWe also have a few photos from Kennebunkport itself. It is a quaint little town with lots of really fun and interesting shops. Most places seemed to be dog friendly too.

Evidently, they have a thing for silly signage.

My GBGV Life LobstoreWe went in the Lobstore and found this sign at the entryway.

My GBGV LIfe side streetOne more side street from the great little town. Hope you enjoyed our little tour of Kennebunkport and Walkers Point!

My GBGV Life is happy, so we’re joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
