Today I’m looking back at sports titles earned by Team Orange this past year when I was five. I’ve reached the peak of all my sports so titles are not as frequent. Competitions are fewer and much more difficult but still I got a few new good ones!
My first new title was my L3I, Level 3 Vehicle Element Title on June 1st. I had to complete four vehicle searches each with an unknown number of hides. I did it and I also placed second out of all the competitors. As with almost all my nose work titles I am the first and only GBGV to earn this title.
Looking back through photos we found this one which is one of our favorite sports photos of the year. I found the hide under this old tractor. Often when I find a hide I do tip my head and look at my focused eye.
August 30th, I earned my FCAT3 Title. I’m the first GBGV to earn this title. After earning my FCAT3, I officially retired from FastCAT. The five years I ran I was the number one GBGV each year and also placed first at the Invitational I attended in 2021.
To earn this title I ran eighty four runs with a total of 2002.17 points. In 2020 I was still under eighteen inches and received a 1.5 handicap but in 2021, I lost that and only got my mph for each run. The above photo is of all my title ribbons and the flats are from my eighty four qualifying runs.
The biggest title of my career, and the Team Orange goal is my Summit Title which I earned on October 12th. It was a hard trial and right after we lost Madison but she was looking out of us and we did it! Mom and I are so proud to have earned our first Summit Title with all our friends around us too as the trial was local.
Not only did I earn the title, I took third place overall we earned a first and a second place in two of our eight searches. I was the only dog to find all the hides in the search where we earned first place.
My sports titles earned ends with my L2C, Level 2 Container Title. I earned this one at the Firehouse Museum in Michigan on December 8th. I also places first out of all the competitors in those four container searches.
What a special year it was for titles. I’m thankful for each of my titles as we work hard for all of them. Let’s see what I can do now when I turn six! Team Orange is ready for action!
