The CyclONE City Project, Photos With CY

My GBGV Life The CyclONE City ProjectThe CyclONE City Project is something the Ames Chamber of Commerce did with Iowa State University several years ago. “Cy” is the mascot for ISU. Businesses around town sponsored local artists who created these fun statues all around the town. This one is called Protect and Serve CY, and is stationed at City Hall. He is a police CY.

My GBGV Life the Elvis CYOriginally, there were thirty of these guys but now that the initiative is over, there are twenty seven remaining. Mom found a list with all the addresses. Six are in buildings which means that leaves twenty one we could visit. Driving into town looking for the murals we featured on Tuesday we passed the CY House Rock, an Elvis kind of guy. Of course, we stopped and posed with him.

My GBGV Life The CyclONE City ProjectOn the hunt we found Cy The Dentist Guy. I was smelling some bad breath and think the guy needs a dental cleaning, LOL!

My GBGV Life CY at Ames Tourism OfficeCytes of Ames, is at the Ames Tourist center.

My GBGV Life Dr. CYFinally we found the vet, yikes! Yes, it is Dr. Cy at the ISU Veterinary Clinic. I must say he is the first vet that didn’t scare me to death. We found another one in town but could not find a parking spot. Our plan is to try to find more of these each time we pass by Ames. The CyClONE City Project is a fun idea and it’s a fun project to find them. Only fifteen to go!

My GBGV Life Nelson at Elite TrialFinally, Sunday Nelson had his first nose work trial of the year at the Madison County Fairgrounds. Mom and Nelson had a blast but the results were not such a blast. Almost everyone had really low scores. For some reason the hides, which didn’t seem difficult, turned out to be quite difficult. They earned more points and that is most important. Next weekend they will try again in Wisconsin and see how things go. At least the weather was perfect, and they had a great time.

We are joining our friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard is for their Nature Friday blog hop.
