Nelson and I are happy about earning some Detective Qs at the Scent Work Trial on the weekend. I already have my Detective Title but am working on my second one and Nelson is working on his first. To be fair, Mom let us each do one Detective search each of the three days.
The weather was beautiful all weekend, but it did get rather warm in the afternoon. Once and a while Mom took us over to the river for a walk . We’ve never seen the river this high before. The trial was at the fairgrounds which means we also had searches in animal barns and stuff which adds another challenge to our sniffing.
Mom and I used these searches to prepare for my upcoming Summit Trials. We totally rocked all three of my searches and had so much fun together. I’m proud to have earned a fourth and a first place in two of my searches. One needs ten Q’s to earn a Detective Title and I now have nine towards my second one.
Nelson is still young but he works really hard and only missed one hide in his first try. The second try was a disaster. It was a sheep barn with sheep poo and pee all over and the poor guy could not stay focused on his nose work. On the third day, it all came together and he earned a Q. He now has two Q’s towards his first Detective Title. It’s good practice for Team Lime. The Tilt a Whirl comes from Faribault, so we thought it would be a fitting place to pose together with our Detective Qs.
We don’t know when we will be doing Scent Work again, it may not be until 2025 as we have a pretty full calendar for the rest of 2024. Madison joined us for sniffing Saturday. You can read all about how it went for her on Friday this week. Happy Tuesday!
My GBGV Life is happy, so we’re joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
