Wild is…cool fall air and lots of crunchy leaves and we have both at our house now. Nelson and I have been doing a lot of racing and chasing and having a blast. Leaf play happens pretty much every fall. I’ve got my ears up so I can hear him better over the crunch of the leaves. He says, let’s race, and I am game!
I’m off to grab that guy! There is no question I am faster but he is also creative, so he isn’t super easy to catch all the time. No doubt about it, I am focused in on my target.
Now I’m catching up to him and we both are enjoying a good race.
Mom loves the faces we make when we are chasing around with each other, they make her smile and laugh. Turns out I make the crazy eyes in nose work too. We saw it in some recent still photos. I guess hunting odor and hunting Nelson are similar, LOL.
Sometimes in the heat of the chase we go under the pine trees and disappear. Nelson is suddenly missing, and I am guessing that is where he is hiding out.
Oh dear, this is where he popped out from under the trees and grabbed me. If you don’t have the speed, you have to be smart about how to capture me.
The cool fall air makes racing around so bearable, but still I need a break. I slow down and prance around for a few minutes until my batteries are recharged.
Back at the races, suddenly a two headed hound appeared in our game of chase. How odd is that?
Here I am pretty sure Nelson was trying to run, chase, and smile at the camera. It worked. I was focusing on my chasing.
Sometimes we stop chasing and just wrestle. The sound and smell of the crunchy leaves makes them fun to play in. Maybe Mom will rake up a pile for us?
We’ll leave you with another set of our goofy faces. Once we are tired out, we’ll head in for some snacks and then a real nice nap…possibly with snoring from me. Nelson doesn’t snore but I snore loudly and proudly. Hope your pups are getting out in the cool fall air for some fun in the leaves if you have fall where you are.
We are joining our friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard is for their Nature Friday blog hop.
