Wrightstown, Wisconsin seems to be all about the luck of the green. Mom told me that Sunday morning but I didn’t believe her until later in the day. These two adorable mugs traveled to Wisconsin last weekend for two days of nose work fun. We sure do love to travel, love nose work, and love being with Mom so it was a Grand weekend.
Olivia had her Elite-Premier Trial on Saturday all day. They had a lot of fun searching even when it was stressful at times. In the end, they placed fifth out of twenty eight teams and earned the most points yet at this level for Team Orange. For a title you need four hundred points and we knew going in that was not going to happen but maybe next time. The main thing is the searches were fun and they had fun searching. There were seventeen hides total and they found fifteen of them.
Sunday was Team Lime Green’s day. I had two element trials, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. I was number sixteen for my L2C, Level 2 Container trial. Mom likes containers, me, I get really bored with them. I have to mention, we were near Green Bay, so everything was green and yellow for that terrible team. It is hard for a Vikings guy to stomach but one has to put football aside when doing nose work. The funny thing is, number thirteen ended up being the first team to search on the green side of the school. Mom said being first and green was a sign of luck. I was not so certain.
My first two searches were tough. I wasn’t interested in the containers at all but Mom insisted so I decided to be nice and point out the hot containers to her correctly and ignore everything else. My second two searches were really nice and I actually got second place in my last search. It is kind of funny as it was plastic paint buckets painted green and yellow for the Packers. I nailed both hides, bam, bam and that was my title. No misses, found all eight hides, no no’s, no faults. We didn’t take any videos Sunday as the weather was iffy and Mom didn’t feel like messing with it.
In the afternoon I had my L3I, Level 3 Interior trial. Remember just a week before I earned my L2I title. It was pouring out by then but the search goes on. Mom says I was so smart, and I really made her proud with my very accurate sniffing and alerting. One judge even said one of my four searches was beautiful to watch. At this level there is a range of hides so I don’t know how many there are. I even had to obey a stop sign on the way to one of my searches. I really dislike waiting but it is part of the game.
In the end, I had another perfect trial, no misses, found all nine hides, no no’s, no faults. I earned my L3I title. In my media room search I placed third. Mom wasn’t calling as fast as she would in an Elite trial because she wanted to get the title and placement was less important. It is alright by me, I just search until she says we are done. Now I even have a green ribbon to go into my collection!
It was a wonderful weekend overall with Olivia getting lots of points towards her ELT-P Title, and me earning two more element titles. I think Mom was right about the luck of the green being with us in Wrightstown even if we are not Packer fans! You can see the wall I am sitting on is even wet from the two hours of pouring rain!
