For at least 20 border collies trapped inside a Florida home, the arrival of rescuers marked the end of a heartbreaking ordeal. Authorities discovered the dogs living in deeply unsanitary conditions, surrounded by damaged furniture, piles of debris, and areas contaminated with feces. Their once-recognizable black-and-white coats were reportedly so heavily soiled that some appeared almost entirely black.
