We got a beautiful real snow last Thursday into Friday, just in time for Christmas. Around our house it came to about six or seven inches of nice powdery snow. It should last through Christmas and then sadly it will get warm and they are talking about rain. In the meantime we are all out enjoying it.
My morning walk was very peaceful and early enough that the neighborhood roads had not yet been plowed.
Snow on pine trees is always so beautiful.
Over the weekend I got to climb around on some of the big snow piles at the parking lot up the street. They are like mountains of snow without having to actually drive to mountains.
The day after it snows is usually cold but the sun comes out and makes it all so beautiful. Olivia and Nelson played lots of chasing games in the fresh snow and would come in now and then to warm up and watch for any crime in the neighborhood.
I enjoyed sniffing the pine trees, looking for the scent of squirrels.
Nelson joined me in the yard for some fun in the pristine, fresh snow. It almost feels wrong to make paw prints in the snow.
After some time wandering the yard, enjoying the cold air and snow, it is about time for me to come inside. We are all happy for the new white stuff and hopefully it will get cold again soon, snow, and stay cold for a few months.
