Today we have a Friday mix of “stuff” for you. There has been snow almost every day, bad roads, bitter cold winds, and not a lot of opportunity to get out and do things. Therefore, I am kicking the mix off with my Friendly Fill-Ins.
- Holly Jolly Christmas is my favorite Christmas song.
- My stocking is a Christmas decoration that I treasure.
- Though ’tis the season for parties, I much prefer to stay at home.
- If I could create a new Christmas tradition, it would be putting up lights at our house.
The above photo might quack you up! The other day when we were getting several inches of snow, suddenly some ducks appeared in our backyard and were just hanging out. Weird…we thought they all went south for the winter!
Olivia and Nelson did another hour of barn hunt practice this week. Mom is determined they earn their RATS Titles, (Senior Title). They could do it easily except the sport doesn’t allow rewarding the ring. No pay, no work is kind of their motto. I have had my RATS Title for several years. Dogs have to find all four rats, tunnel, and climb before they can leave the ring to go get snacks. It’s a huge ask for our snack monster but Mom is determined.
Do you know what happens to odor in the cold? It sinks, which is why dogs are always sticking their heads in the snow. Nelson tried to deny he was doing that but his snow beard pretty much blew his cover.
The pine trees always look so pretty after a nice fresh snow. Wish we could cut it down and bring it inside and have the snow stay.
Of course, some racing is always part of the snow fun in our backyard. Let those ears fly, guy!
Olivia is always about racing. Mom is like her as they both love to do everything really fast.
Mom says Olivia is the hound version of her. They have very similar personalities!
I’ll leave you with this quote. If you have a dog you will get it completely. True, isn’t it? Have a funtabulous weekend and stay warm! We are going down to fifteen or so degrees below zero without the windchill.
I’m joining my friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard for their Nature Friday blog hop.
