Thankful For Poinsettia Time

My GBGV Life Thankful For Poinsettia TimeLast weekend on our errands, it was poinsettia time. Every year Mom and Gramma go to the same greenhouse to get a poinsettia for the holidays. This year, Mom was so busy with travel and nose work trials, she totally forgot. We know how much Gramma loves her big poinsettia every year at Christmastime, so we went to the greenhouse and found one for her.

My GBGV Life Thankful For Poinsettia TimeMy mom’s dad started buying poinsettia trees back in the late 70’s for his clients at this very greenhouse. Each year he got Gramma a tree or a big one for the floor. Normally, the greenhouse is packed with the flowers but this late in the season, pickings were kind of slim, especially for large flowers.

They also have cute decorations and fun plant ideas like these Grinch pots.

Mom and I really like these Merry Grinchmas trees with the big ornament.

My GBGV Life Thankful For Poinsettia TimeThey have a photo spot set up too. Of course, Mom had to take a shot of me there. We were about the only ones besides the employees in the store this year!

My GBGV Life packaged plantOf course, nothing is free, so we had to pay for the plant and then they wrap it up so it can go outside in the below freezing weather and not die. I made sure they did a good job.

My GBGV Life Thankful For Poinsettia TimeWe brought the plant to Gramma’s house and set it up where she likes to have it every year. She was super duper happy to have poinsettia time again. We are happy to bring some extra holiday cheer to Gramma and her cat. She is thankful we remembered and actually brought her the plant.
