Zen was only five months old when the very quality that made him lovable nearly cost him the chance to have a family. The young Cane Corso had been expected to become a tough guard dog, but his gentle and affectionate personality did not match what his breeder wanted. Instead of being valued for the sweet dog he was, Zen was rejected and eventually abandoned, chained to the gate of a shelter.
