Last weekend at Gramma’s house, Mom took me for a nice walk to check the melting snow in Hilloway park. They have done a lot of work in the park clearing trees but some still are lying around. I find them fun to climb on or jump over.
Some parts of the woods still had a lot of snow but it was more like slush and ice.
This is in contrast to the part of the woods that has a lot of pine trees. They create heat and melt things much faster. All that is left there is ice where the walking trail is.
It is pretty quiet in the woods at this park but I did hear something and had to keep my eyes peeled in case it was danger. You never know what it could be, a tree, animal, person?
Mom and I got some good exercise and fresh air before heading back to Grammas. I enjoy playing on the downed trees but I sure was a dirty mess when we finally arrived back at the house. Mom had to really towel me off as I was dripping gunk is what she told me. Melting snow is always messy but it has to happen. Maybe we will get some new snow, but it doesn’t look good.
I’m joining my friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard for their Nature Friday blog hop.
