Clever Stray Dog Figures Out McDonald’s Drive-Thru and Finds More Than a Meal

For nearly two years, a frightened German Shepherd mix wandered the streets of Cleveland, Texas, never knowing where his next meal would come from or whether the people he encountered could be trusted. Each day became another test of survival as he searched roadsides and nearby businesses for scraps of food while keeping a cautious distance from anyone who tried to approach him. Beneath that fearful exterior, however, was an intelligent and gentle dog waiting for someone patient enough to earn his trust. She called to him, and hunger was enough to convince the wary dog to approach. “I started whistling and calling him, and he came running to me, but just to get some food,” Ventura said. “I tried to touch him, and he backed up.
