A deaf Dogo Argentino named Buddy was found wandering along a highway in southern Germany, but his life took an unexpected turn when a shelter worker gave him a little toy. The large white dog had been brought to a local animal shelter, where staff discovered that he couldn’t hear. Nobody knew how he had ended up alone on the road, but a simple video of him happily playing would soon help him find a family. The shelter worker sent the video to her family, who weren’t planning to adopt another dog. Yet something about Buddy’s playful personality stayed with them, and they worried that his size and deafness might make finding a home more difficult.
