Great Dane ‘Pours Her Love’ Onto Foster Brother Terrified Of Being Alone

From Tofu to Yeti: The Great Dane Who Found His Forever Home

When Jordann and her family agreed to foster a Great Dane named Tofu, they knew he had a reputation for being an escape artist. What they didn’t know was that his determination to stay close came from something deeper—severe separation anxiety. Tofu’s desire to never be alone led him to climb counters, squeeze through spaces, and do whatever it took to stay near the people he trusted.

When he first arrived, Tofu’s condition was heartbreaking. He was dangerously underweight for his size, weighing far less than the healthy 110 to 115 pounds expected for a Great Dane. His ribs and spine were visible, and his shy, nervous demeanor suggested he had faced neglect and hardship. The woman who surrendered him also revealed that Tofu was partially blind and deaf, with only limited vision in his left eye.

Despite his fragile state, Tofu soon found comfort in Jordann’s other Great Dane, Zoot. The two formed an instant bond. Whenever Tofu cried from anxiety, Zoot was there to soothe him, resting her head on his body as if to say he wasn’t alone anymore. That companionship became a lifeline for him.

Jordann worked tirelessly to restore Tofu’s health, feeding him three cups of food three times a day, supplemented with treats to help him gain weight. Within six weeks, his body began to fill out, and his once sunken frame grew strong. Along with his physical recovery came a new confidence. Tofu discovered joy in being part of a family. His gentle, affectionate personality emerged, and despite his giant size, he often insisted on sitting in Jordann’s lap, proving he was a true snuggler at heart.

His transformation caught the attention of many. Friends, family, and fellow animal lovers encouraged Jordann to keep him forever. His charm made it hard to let go. But with four dogs already in their household, Jordann knew adopting Tofu would make it difficult to continue fostering and saving other dogs in need.

Pit Bull Used as Bait in Dogfighting

A young and sweet pit bull was found behind a warehouse in south Memphis with hundreds of bite marks and other severe injuries. Liam, as the rescuers named him, had been used as bait for dog fighting and his abusers are still at large.

Fortunately, Tofu’s happy ending came quickly. A loving family fell for him and gave him the forever home he deserved. They decided to rename him Yeti, a fitting tribute to his frosty-white coat and gentle giant persona. In his new environment, Yeti is thriving—healthy, loved, and finally free from the fear of abandonment.

Stories like Tofu’s remind us how critical foster families are in the journey from rescue to adoption. By opening their homes, fosters not only give dogs the chance to heal but also prepare them for their forever families. Yeti’s second chance was made possible because one family took the time to love him, nurture him, and believe in his potential.
