Happiness is sniffing in a sauna, if it is your only option. As you can see from my tongue, it was a “bit” hot out at my trial. Mom and I had an Elite trial Sunday when it was sunny, ninety five degrees and a heat index of one hundred five. We are not fans of the heat, but even if it is like a sauna, I will do my best to sniff out all the hides. I love my sniffing! We cover our car with aluminet shades and there are Ryobi fans one each back window where I am hanging out. The wind also helped it not feel as hot.
In the end, I rocked three searches but kind of bombed my first one. Why, I have no idea. There were seventeen hides to be found all day and I found fourteen. I didn’t get an overall placement but I was eighth out of twenty eight dogs. Most important, I earned my Elite 3 Title! Now about four more trials and I will be done with Elite.
Speaking of sniffing in a sauna, my last search of the day was upstairs in the locker room, no A/C. It was toasty but I shifted my nose into turbo nose gear and sniffed out the known number of three hides in one minute eight seconds. The time was good enough to earn me a third place for that search. The video above is my search. It sure was a hot day of searching and we were tired out when we got home but it was a good and fun day too. Now I have a weekend off before hitting the road again.
