There is something extra special about having dogs in the office — and I am very lucky that I can take my golden retrievers, KB and KENZO, to work. They go to work with me Monday through Friday, and over the years, they have become part of the daily office routine. They greet clients, supervise from their favorite spots, bring smiles to busy days, and remind everyone that having dogs in the office can make the workday better.
So, in honor of June’s Take Your Dog To Work Day, I thought it would be fun to imagine what would happen if office dogs answered work emails.
Of course, this is all just for fun — but if you have ever worked with a dog nearby, you might agree that these replies feel very believable.

If Office Dogs Answered Work Emails
What if office dogs answered work emails? In honor of Take Your Dog To Work Day, KB & KENZO are sharing their very dog-approved email replies — full of naps, snacks, belly rubs, and Golden Retriever office shenanigans.
5 Funny Ways Office Dogs Would Respond to Work Emails
1. SUBJECT: Following Up on My Previous Email
“I have sniffed this inbox 47 times. Still no reply. I will continue sniffing until further notice.”
— KENZO, Chief Follow-Up Officer

This one feels very Kenzo. A regular office follow-up email usually means someone is politely waiting for a reply. But if a dog was in charge of follow-ups, checking the inbox would definitely involve sniffing it again and again.
And 47 times? Honestly, that sounds about right for a determined Golden Retriever like Kenzo.
2. SUBJECT: Re: Meeting Request
“I am available at 10am, 2pm, and RIGHT NOW. Mostly RIGHT NOW. Please confirm this is a come-pet-me meeting.”
— KB, Director of Availability

KB is always available when pets are involved.
This reply makes me laugh because it sounds like a normal meeting response at first, but quickly turns into what dogs really want to know: Is someone coming over, and will there be attention?
For office dogs like KB and Kenzo, every meeting becomes a “come-pet-me” meeting.
3. SUBJECT: Friendly Reminder
“This is your friendly reminder that I have not been petted in 11 minutes.”
— KENZO, Employee Wellness Department

Every office needs an Employee Wellness Department, and Kenzo would absolutely take this job seriously.
Dogs are so good at reminding us to pause, smile, and take a little break. In Kenzo’s case, that break would probably include pets, a hug, and maybe another reminder shortly after.
Honestly, Kenzo’s petting requests are nonstop. All day long. Every minute. Because 11 minutes without pets is clearly a workplace concern.
4. SUBJECT: Attached Please Find…
“I could not find the attachment, but I did find a crumb under the desk.”
— KB, Chief Finding Officer

This is such a Golden Retriever office moment.
In a normal email, “attached please find” means there should be a document or file included. But KB’s version of finding things would definitely involve checking under the desk first.
And if a crumb is discovered? That becomes the most important attachment of the day.
5. SUBJECT: RE: Checking In
“Front Door Duty: done. Naps: activated. Belly rub negotiations remain open.”
— KB & KENZO, Office Dogs Management

This is basically KB and KENZO’s normal workday routine.
They checked in, handled front door duty, activated nap mode, and of course, belly rub negotiations are always open for further discussion. Very pawfessional. Very Golden. Very much office dog management run by Goldens.
Why Office Dogs Make Workdays Better
Having KB & KENZO at the office has shown me how much joy dogs can bring into everyday work life. They create little moments of calm, make people smile, and bring a warm welcome to the day.
They may not answer real emails, but they definitely know how to improve the office mood.
Whether they are greeting someone at the door, resting near the desk, or giving that Golden Retriever look that says, “Is it time for a break?”, they remind me that workdays can feel a little lighter with them nearby.

Dogs and Emails: Take Your Dog To Work Day Fun
Take Your Dog To Work Day is a fun reminder of something dog parents already know: dogs have a special way of making ordinary days feel better.
And if KB & KENZO really did answer office emails, I am pretty sure every message would include Golden humor, a little supawvision, and a very strong request for more pets.
Every day is a happy Take Your Dog To Work Day for KB & KENZO, and I’m so lucky to have them at work with me.
