Missing Dog’s Police Station Visit Leads to a Reunion

A missing dog walked up to a Tampa police station, and the visit ended with an officer bringing him back to his family. While his person was worrying about where he had gone, he had turned up at the department’s District Two office. The September 30 visit prompted Tampa Police to joke that an “unexpected K-9 applicant” had arrived. He would not be joining the department’s canine team, but officers had something better to arrange for this particular visitor: a reunion with the person missing him. An officer opened the door, and the dog followed him inside. WSVN identified the visitor as a German Shepherd and reported that police took him to a veterinarian to be checked. That visit also helped officers find the information they needed to return him to his family. The dog had a microchip, giving the people helping him a way to identify his person.
