Man Arrested After Burglary and Threats Against Family Dogs in Lincoln
A West Lincoln family endured a terrifying ordeal this week when a burglary escalated into threats against both the residents and their beloved pets. According to police, officers were called to the home Wednesday evening after 27-year-old Isiah King allegedly forced his way inside, wielding a knife and menacing the household.

Authorities report that during the break-in, King threatened the family and their dogs before stealing a bicycle and fleeing the scene. Witnesses confirmed the suspect’s aggressive behavior, noting that his threats toward the pets only compounded the fear experienced by the victims.
Responding officers quickly located King nearby, still riding the stolen bicycle. When ordered to stop, he refused and continued to ride away, prompting a brief pursuit. Police ultimately apprehended him about a mile from the scene. During the arrest, officers discovered that King was carrying multiple bottles of prescription medication, at least one of which belonged to the burglary victims.
While the family’s dogs were unharmed, police emphasized that threatening pets during a violent crime significantly increases the emotional toll on victims. “For many families, pets are considered part of the household,” one officer noted. “Threats against them are taken just as seriously.”
The burglary left neighbors shaken, particularly because the crime took place close to an elementary school. Residents expressed concern over the brazenness of the attack and the potential danger to others in the community.

King now faces a list of charges, including burglary, theft, and use of a weapon to commit a felony. Investigators are continuing their work to determine whether additional charges will be filed.
For the family targeted in the crime, relief came in knowing that both they and their dogs were physically safe, though the emotional scars of the ordeal will take time to heal. The incident serves as a sobering reminder that danger can arrive without warning—even at the doorstep of an otherwise quiet neighborhood.
