Our Fire Hydrant Tour – A Dog’s Dream

Back to New Ulm when we accidentally came upon a fire hydrant tour. It is for most dogs a dream but thankfully Nelson was raised with strict manners, and he knows not to “lift a leg” on a fire hydrant. We were actually looking for murals but also found the painted hydrants along Main Street. Finding Snoopy always makes us happy. He is such a happy dog and although he is said to be a Beagle we still think he looks more like a GBGV.On another corner across from the Glockenspiel, we found a music hydrant. What a great idea to paint it like sheet music and with instruments.This little guy is kind of a goofy fellow. We could not find any information as to what he is representing but he is cute. He has a shamrock on his hat which is odd since New Ulm is a full German town.Is anyone interested in a gumball? It seems that I have plenty of them with this fire hydrant.This one is super popular but we find it to be rather ugly. Can you tell what it is? It is right by the giant footprint we posted about back on Monday. The artist says it is Hermann the German.Every fire department has a Dalmatian and this is a Dalmatian hydrant.
