But fate had something better in store. A compassionate woman from North Carolina named Laney took her in, and that changed everything for Maybelline.

A Whole New Dog

Laney had learned the details of Maybelline’s sad past. She had been left outside in terrible conditions and only used to have puppies. The worst part? Her former owner tried to reclaim her—only to back out when he found out he could only take her back if she was spayed. That showed he didn’t love her, he just wanted to use her again.
