Few could have imagined how much determination was hidden inside Mango’s tiny, fragile body when she was rescued in Oklahoma. The French Bulldog was severely starved, badly injured, and so weak that she had almost no muscle left to support herself. A witness reportedly said Mango had been thrown from a vehicle, and caregivers later discovered that she had also suffered two gunshot wounds to the head. At only 12 pounds, Mango faced injuries that would have been overwhelming for any dog, yet within just two days, she did something remarkable: she stood up and walked. She also arrived severely malnourished, leaving her caregivers at Angel Fund OKC with the difficult task of helping her recover without asking too much of her weakened body.
