Support Dog Wakes Deaf Woman After Husband Falls Downstairs

Sandra Donally was fast asleep when her support dog, Storm, suddenly jumped onto her bed shortly after midnight. The 62-year-old woman from Staffordshire, England, is deaf and relies on Storm to alert her to important sounds, but this time, the dog’s unusual behavior was warning her about something far more serious. Sandra’s husband, Gary, had fallen down the stairs and was lying unconscious at the bottom, badly injured and unable to call for help. At first, Sandra had no idea anything was wrong. She noticed the landing light was on and assumed Gary had simply gotten up to use the bathroom.
