Some friendships are so special that even a year apart cannot weaken them. For Fiona, a little Corgi with a big personality, one of life’s greatest joys was visiting her enormous neighbor, Kili, an Alaskan Malamute who outweighed her by at least 100 pounds. Despite their dramatic size difference, the two dogs formed an extraordinary bond that quickly became part of their daily routine. But when an unexpected family emergency separated them for more than a year, Fiona lost those precious visits with her favorite companion. Their eventual reunion would show just how much their friendship still meant to them. Rain or shine, she knew her giant friend would often be waiting outside, ready to greet her. “Fiona would consistently start sprinting towards Kili’s driveway whenever we would leave the house,” Fiona’s dad, Chris Equale, told The Dodo. The excitement was never one-sided.
