Abandoned Puppy Rejected by Her Mother Finds Hope After Heartbreaking Start

Boo came into the world under heartbreaking circumstances. She was born on the streets alongside her mother and littermates, struggling to survive until Animal Control discovered them. The tiny family was brought to a local shelter, where staff hoped the mother would care for her puppies. Sadly, when reunited, the mother rejected her babies and even became aggressive toward them.

Too young to understand why their mother wouldn’t comfort them, Boo and her siblings were left longing for warmth and love. Knowing the fragile puppies needed around-the-clock care, the shelter reached out to Compassionate Canine Society, a dedicated home-based rescue in El Paso, Texas.

The rescue took in three of the puppies and began the demanding task of bottle-feeding them every two hours. At first, everything went well, but Boo soon fell ill. She was rushed to the vet, where she was diagnosed with pneumonia. Despite the grim outlook, the rescue team refused to give up. A few days later, her siblings, Sulley and Mike, also became sick, and the vet warned that survival was unlikely.

With endless love and sleepless nights, the team nursed the puppies through their illness. Day by day, Boo began to recover. Her playful spirit returned, and her personality started to shine. She became known as the quiet, curious pup who liked to explore corners and nap in cozy hiding spots.

When the puppies were finally ready for adoption, Boo was placed in the rescue’s “Foster to Adopt” program. A kind woman took her home, planning to finalize the adoption after two weeks if everything went smoothly. The rescue team was thrilled, thinking Boo had found the happy ending she deserved.

But just 24 hours later, the woman called and said she wanted to return Boo — because the puppy had been “crying too much.”

A family in Seattle dropped their dog, a black lab named Mitch, off at a local kennel one day, not expecting anything unusual to occur. But Mitch's stay at the kennel ended with an employee brutally kicking and punching him - to the point of death.

Heartbroken but understanding, the rescue agreed to take her back. When Boo was returned, staff noticed a bump on her head, sparking immediate concern. Thankfully, the vet confirmed she was okay, and the swelling quickly subsided.

Despite the disappointment, Boo’s spirit remained unbroken. She wagged her tail, played with toys, and greeted everyone with the same sweetness that had captured so many hearts. The rescue shared her story online, and soon, interest in adopting Boo poured in.

Today, Boo is back in a new foster-to-adopt home — one filled with patience, warmth, and understanding. Her rescuers are hopeful that this time, she has truly found her forever family.
