Farmer Finds a Shivering Puppy Hiding in Her Chicken Coop

Life on a farm is rarely quiet, and for animal lovers, every morning brings something new — but one woman never expected her daily chicken check to end in a rescue.

When Madison, a farmer and animal lover, went to her chicken coop early one morning, she noticed the door slightly ajar. Expecting to see her usual flock scratching around for breakfast, she was stunned to find something entirely different. Curled up in the hay, trembling from the cold, was a tiny puppy.

Madison immediately recognized the little pup as a stray she’d seen wandering near her property before. “I’ve seen her around the yard a couple of times and I fed her the other day,” Madison said in her TikTok video. “I just haven’t been able to catch her. But I just found her. She’s cold, she’s trembling.”

The small puppy, later named Livy, had clearly spent the night seeking shelter from the cold. Remembering Madison’s earlier kindness, she’d returned to the only place where she’d felt safe.

Without hesitation, Madison brought Livy inside and gave her a warm meal. The poor puppy devoured it within seconds, clearly starving from her time alone. Then came a warm bath — a spa day fit for a little survivor. Once cleaned and dry, Livy received another meal, wagging her tail for the first time in comfort.

Madison adored Livy instantly, but her living situation made adopting her difficult. “We’re not in the best place to keep another dog right now,” she explained. “We’re about to move out while renovating our house, and we already have a dog and two cats. It’s already going to be a handful.”

Determined to find Livy the home she deserved, Madison posted her story online. Within hours, hundreds of kind-hearted TikTok users offered to adopt the puppy. But before deciding, Madison took Livy to the vet to check for a microchip.

A family in Seattle dropped their dog, a black lab named Mitch, off at a local kennel one day, not expecting anything unusual to occur. But Mitch's stay at the kennel ended with an employee brutally kicking and punching him - to the point of death.

When no owner could be found, Madison knew Livy needed a forever home — and she soon found the perfect one. “I do have someone that I know personally coming to get her this evening,” she shared. “She will be very well taken care of and loved, and she’ll get all the vet care she needs.”

Later that day, Madison said an emotional goodbye as Livy trotted off to meet her new family. The tiny dog who once shivered alone in a chicken coop now had a safe home — and a future filled with love.

Before ending her video, Madison encouraged her followers to help others like Livy. “Go to an animal shelter and adopt a dog just like her,” she urged. “There are so many being put down every day. Go adopt!”

Livy’s rescue reminded everyone watching that even the smallest act of kindness — like leaving out a bit of food — can change a life forever.
