There’s something extra special about finding a local adventure where dogs are welcome — especially when it includes a beautiful field of flowers.

This year, KB & KENZO finally got to enjoy Dog Days at Hana Field in Costa Mesa, CA. We missed it in the past when they first started inviting dogs to explore the flower field, so I was so happy we were able to attend this time.

It turned out to be such a sweet and memorable outing. Hana Field was beautiful, peaceful, and very well thought out. The flower field made the perfect backdrop for a short local adventure with the dogs, and of course, KB & KENZO loved exploring one sniff at a time.

Dog Days at Hana Field was a fun way to enjoy the outdoors with KB & KENZO. They were able to walk through the flower field, take in all the scents, and enjoy a different kind of adventure close to home.

According to Tanaka Farms’ story, the farm’s roots began with Takeo Tanaka, an Issei, or first-generation Japanese American, who immigrated from Hiroshima, Japan, in the early 1900s. His family continued farming through the generations, including Farmer Grandpa George, a Nisei, or second-generation Japanese American, and later Farmer Tanaka, a Sansei, or third-generation Japanese American.

Knowing that history makes the name Hana Field feel even more special. It is not just a flower field — it is part of a family farm with deep roots, history, and a love for sharing farm experiences with the community.

Our Favorite Part – Dog Days at Hana Field

Our favorite part of Dog Days at Hana Field was watching KB & KENZO explore the flowers.

They sniffed, walked, posed for a few photos, and enjoyed being part of a local dog-friendly adventure. It was simple, but those are often the moments that mean the most.

The flower field was beautiful, and seeing the dogs enjoy it made it even more special.
