After being discarded when he was no longer considered useful, Dexter could have carried the weight of his past into every new home. Instead, this rescue dog found security, patient humans, and a wonderfully strange routine that now keeps his family smiling. Several times a day, Dexter carefully picks up a cat bed, carries it through the house, heads outside, and leaves it behind. There is no destruction or wild mischief involved. For Dexter, relocating cat beds simply seems to be an important job that must be done. Credit: Instagram Dexter’s journey began in Granville County, North Carolina, where he ended up at a shelter after being abandoned by a hunter who reportedly no longer had a use for him. It was an uncertain chapter for a dog who deserved something much more permanent. Eventually, Dexter met Dave and Robin, who welcomed him into their family. They hoped this would finally be the home where he could settle in for good, telling him, “Third time’s a charm.” With stability came the chance for Dexter’s personality to shine.
