Lucky seven brought me some bigger sports titles in the past year. When you start in sports, wins are easy and there are a lot of them. As you advance, the sports become much more difficult and it takes longer to earn new titles. Mom decided to focus on certain sports for now and then go back to others like barn hunt later on and it is a good idea. While being seven I earned my FCAT2, ELT1, SIM, and SCM Titles.
The first new title I earned was my FastCAT 2 Title in September 2023. It is super exciting since I got a beautiful ribbon that is bigger than me and totally my favorite colors! Since my crash while running in May 2022, I haven’t been running as fast. Now I’m working on my FCAT3, and that will be the end of FastCAT for me. Hopefully I will earn that title this year still.
My second new title was my ELT1 Title, Elite 1, in March. Elite nose work has been very challenging for me and my mom. Finally we seem to have a better plan and hopefully I will earn my ELT2 while I am eight. I need one hundred fifty more points which means probably three or four more trials. Our goal is to find half the hides which is fifty points right now, but hopefully our team will grow and I will start to get more than that each trial.
In April I earned two more Masters Scent Work Titles. The first being containers. A dog needs a title in all four elements for an overall Masters Title which is my goal when I’m eight. The SCM Title is my second Masters Title. The day after that title, I earned my Masters Interior Title. Now I need to qualify in three Exterior searches to earn my overall Masters Title. By the way, I love my pink ribbons too!
For me it was a Grand year in sports and I look forward to flying into a few more titles the coming year.
