Logan County Man Arrested After Throwing Dogs Over Shelter Fence
The Logan County Animal Shelter in Kentucky was recently shaken by a horrifying act of cruelty that left both staff and the local community heartbroken. Security cameras captured a man throwing multiple dogs over the shelter’s fence one evening, an act that ended in tragedy.

Around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, surveillance footage showed the man hurling three dogs over the perimeter fence. When staff discovered them soon after, all three had already died. The cause of death remains unclear, but officials confirmed that the trauma the dogs endured was severe.
Logan County Judge-Executive Phil Baker expressed the grief shared by many in the community. “Sadly, all three dogs were found dead. They are not sure what caused their death,” he said. The discovery quickly sparked outrage online and within the small Kentucky county, where residents demanded justice for the animals.
The investigation gained momentum almost immediately. The following day, the suspect was recognized by someone while paying taxes at the sheriff’s office. Authorities acted swiftly, arresting him that very afternoon and taking him into custody.

The Logan County Animal Shelter later confirmed that the man faces three felonies and three misdemeanors, including animal cruelty charges. Judge-Executive Baker noted that while the legal system will determine his punishment, the emotional damage to the shelter staff and community is immeasurable.
Shelter workers emphasized that this case is a devastating reminder of the importance of compassion and responsible pet ownership. “If you can’t care for an animal, there are humane options,” one staff member said. “Please don’t resort to cruelty.”

The shelter is now working closely with authorities and animal welfare groups to ensure accountability in this case. Staff members hope that the tragedy will lead to stronger protections for vulnerable animals and a greater awareness of humane alternatives. The lost dogs, though gone, have left a lasting mark, inspiring the community to demand both justice and change.
