These Shelter Dogs Beat the Heat Thanks to Our Hero VIP Club Members

Summer can feel endless for a dog waiting in a shelter or rescue. As July temperatures climb and kennels grow stifling, even a brief chance to stretch out in the shade, splash in cool water, or enjoy a special treat can bring welcome relief from the heat and the stress of shelter life. Thanks to the incredible kindness of iHeartDogs customers and Hero VIP Club members, dogs at The Animal Protection League, MidSouth Animal Welfare Foundation, and Karl’s Canine Krew received exactly those kinds of joyful experiences through our Beat the Heat Care Package Campaign. The campaign supplied cooling summer fun and enrichment through kiddie pools, splash pads, swimming adventures, shaded playtime, donated sock monkey and rope toys, and doggie ice cream cones sprinkled with iHeartDogs Happy, Healthy Dog Food Topper. For dogs still waiting to find their families, these were more than fun summer extras. They were reminders that someone cared about their comfort, happiness, and well-being.
